Happy Friday, Toledo!  I don’t know about you, but all the content swirling around on social media, TV and the internet is starting to feel really heavy right about now.  With that in consideration, we’re keeping things light and helpful for you this week.   Our area has a lot to be proud of right now, so I’m sharing some fun things to do in Toledo as well as some ways you can give back during this time when so many are in need.

I’ve also done a lot of research this week with the help of the management team at Key Realty about the CARES Act.  The CARES Act is legislation that was written to provide relief for homeowners, commercial property owners and business owners.  It’s amazing what they’re offering in regards to mortgage payment forbearance with no penalties or extra interest and small business loans with the option for the loan to be forgivable.  If you have questions or need direction on where you can find help, please reach out to me. I’d love to help you!

Now let’s get to the fun stuff!

Ways to give back:

ProMedica is collecting homemade fabric masks at bins near the entrances of many health facility locations. Click here for the information and locations.

PopFizzKlink is owned by the wife of a first responder. Out of feeling like she wanted to be of service in some way, she has created a very pretty yard sign that reads “thank you to all essential workers”.  All proceeds will go to those fighting on the front lines. To order yours today, click here.

Fowl and Fodder created a new service called 4-1-Dine. It’s an online shop selling groceries, everyday essentials (yes, like toilet paper) and meals.  They deliver or you can pick up curbside at their downtown location.  With that, they created The 4-1-Dine Community Care Fund with Mosaic Ministries to get meals to families who desperately need it. All orders over $44.19 will give $4.19 to the fund and you can choose to donate more at check out.

Sylvania Nutrition is doing a Pay It Forward Program. You can select an essential worker and sponsor a tea (or 10!) to send to them! Check the details out here.

Barry Bagels is taking donations to donate a box lunch to a local hero and they’re matching each donation box for box with a minimum 5 lunch donation!

Jupmode launched a fundraiser for local businesses called “Here for Good”.  Many businesses have designed shirts at Jupmode with their logos on them and each shirt sold give $10 directly to that business! How cool is that? Click here to shop!

Maddie and Bella started "Fuel the Frontlines", which is an option on their website to send freshly roasted coffee to Toledo are healthcare workers. In addition, they will match up to 20lbs weekly!  For more information, click here.
