Best Breakfast in Toledo
Dated: September 15 2020
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I’m betting I’m not the only one since it’s the one meal you see repeated even for dinner! So if you ARE like me in this instance and you’re in the 419, you are in luck. Toledo has no shortage of awesome breakfast places to try. Keep reading for my 6 go-to breakfast places in Northwest Ohio!
(P.S. My list would’ve been a lot longer if I included coffee shops in this list. If you’re looking for that, I’ve written a blog post with my favorite 419 coffee shops, which you can find here: http://bit.ly/419coffee)
They do the basics RIGHT, but with their own flare. If you’re looking for something a little more unique, they’ve got crab cake eggs benedict, breakfast tacos, cinnamon oatmeal pancakes and much more! My go-to order is the Wisconsin scramble with sourdough toast!
This is the definition of DINER if you ask me. All your staples at great price points and with awesome customer service. They must be doing something right because they now have 3 locations in Northwest Ohio. And we can’t talk about Mayberry without mentioning their, always fresh, homemade pies! I’m hungry just thinking about it!
For some major retro, fun, “Instagrammable” vibes, Monroe Street Dinner is the place! This is the place where “everyone knows your name”. They’ve got a great reputation in Toledo, and for good reasons! They’ll treat you like family while whipping up their classic recipes made from scratch. While there breakfast is highly recommended, I would keep them in mind for lunch too! (Along with breakfast, they’re known for their spaghetti and chili mac!)
One word… HAYMAKER. This is what I tell everyone to order if they’ve never been here. Basically, it’s a combo of all your favorite breakfast flavors stacked into one delicious, unforgettable, pile. (Think eggs + sausage gravy + pancakes, etc.) JUST TRUST ME! Once they reopen from COVID (still hoping that day comes soon!), go and visit their cozy little diner that looks like you just stepped foot into someone’s home. It’s seriously an amazing atmosphere!
For the trendy food eats with a downtown vibe. Fowl and Fodder is ALWAYS good for a fresh juice, avocado toasts and they’re especially known for their chicken and waffles! Their menus are seasonal and always changing because they focus on being a farm to table restaurant. They’re also great for vegan/vegetarian breakfast options!
For a boozy brunch, I have to say, Manhattan’s would be my 1st choice! Their mimosas and bloody mary’s do NOT disappoint! Their brunch is every Sunday from 10am-2pm and it is served buffet style. Not like the yucky, cold-ish food that a buffet might make you think of though. More like made to order waffles and omelets with a meat carving station and much more. They don’t mess around with the food at Manhattan’s!
